GEORG BASELITZ

Deutschbaselitz, Germany, 1938; lives and works in Derneburg.

Baselitz's familiar inconograph of the upside-down image, developed over four decades, is explored in a wide variety of printmaking media-etching, woodblock (including handcoloring)-and an equally broad subject matter from the landscape, to animals and the human figure.
